Raised in the San Diego/Tijuana border region, Pedro Cota is a bicultural and bilingual filmmaker and journalist.
He received his BA in film at the University of California Berkeley in 2010, and in 2020, he obtained his Master's degree in Journalism at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
Pedro has produced video, photojournalism and
narrative writing content that deals with economic inequalities for individuals and small businesses, public health, human rights and environmental issues.
Pedro has experience reporting in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sonoma, San Diego and New York City. He has also reported internationally in Mexico and Brazil.
His work has been published in Northern California Public Media, NBC News and the New York Times. Currently, he is a video producer for NASA en español.
